Get the exact step-by-step PDF used by SEOing to build free high-DR podcast backlinks from Spotify, Apple Podcasts and Amazon Music — with screenshots and templates.
Podcast backlinks are one of the most underrated free link-building strategies of 2026. By publishing AI-generated audio episodes on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and Amazon Music, you can earn contextual backlinks from DR 92+ domains in under 30 minutes per episode — without owning a microphone or hosting a real show.
This is the exact method I used to build podcast backlinks for seoing.org. Below is the full blueprint — and you can also download the PDF version here.
Why Podcast Backlinks Work (Even AI-Generated Ones)
- High DR backlinks from Spotify, Apple & Amazon (DR 92–94+)
- 100% free — no paid tools required
- Contextual & keyword-anchored links
- Diversified backlink profile (audio + text)
- Brand mentions across audio platforms
- Improves E-E-A-T signals for Google
Step 1 — Create an Artist / Creator Account on Spotify
Sign up for Spotify for Podcasters (formerly Anchor). It is 100% free and gives you a publishing hub that automatically distributes your podcast to Spotify and pushes RSS to other platforms.
- Use your real brand name (e.g. SEOing) — this becomes your podcast author and increases brand SERP signals.
- Add a clean square logo (3000x3000px) — this image is shown across Spotify, Apple and Amazon.
- Fill the bio with your target keyword (e.g. 'SEO agency in UAE') and add your website URL.
Step 2 — Write the Podcast Script with AI
Use ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude to draft a 3–8 minute podcast script around one focus keyword. Keep it conversational, natural, and full of value — Spotify and Apple do read transcripts.
- Pick ONE primary keyword per episode (e.g. 'Local SEO Dubai').
- Naturally mention your brand and website 2–3 times in the script.
- End with a clear CTA: 'Visit seoing.org for a free SEO audit.'
Step 3 — Convert Text to Speech with TTSMaker (Free)
Open TTSMaker.com — a free text-to-speech tool with commercial-use voices. Paste your script, choose a natural English voice, and export the audio as MP3.
- Choose a US/UK English voice that sounds human (avoid robotic ones).
- Keep audio length between 3–8 minutes for best Spotify retention.
- Download as MP3 at the highest available bitrate.
Step 4 — Upload to Spotify for Podcasters
Inside Spotify for Podcasters, click 'New Episode' and upload the MP3 file. This is where the actual backlink magic happens — in the description.
- Episode Title: include your primary keyword.
- Episode Description: paste your full script as a transcript (great for indexing).
- Insert your website URL as a clickable anchor: e.g. SEO services in UAE → https://www.seoing.org
- Use 2–3 keyword-rich anchors pointing to different pages (homepage + service page + blog).
- Add relevant tags / categories.
- Hit Publish.
Step 5 — Wait for Indexing
Spotify episodes typically get indexed by Google within 3–14 days. Once indexed, you have a do-follow contextual backlink from a DR 92+ domain (open.spotify.com).
- Check indexing with: site:open.spotify.com 'your podcast title'
- Submit the episode URL to Google Search Console > URL Inspection > Request Indexing.
- Share the Spotify link on Twitter/LinkedIn to speed up discovery.
Step 6 — Repeat on Apple Podcasts
Apple Podcasts is the second highest-authority podcast platform (DR 93). Submit your existing RSS feed (Spotify generates one automatically) inside Apple Podcasts Connect.
- Go to podcastsconnect.apple.com and log in with your Apple ID.
- Click '+' → New Show → Add by RSS Feed → paste your Spotify RSS URL.
- Apple will pull all your episodes automatically — same descriptions, same backlinks.
- Approval takes 24–72 hours.
Step 7 — Repeat on Amazon Music / Audible
Amazon Music for Podcasters is free and gives you a backlink from music.amazon.com (DR 94).
- Go to podcasters.amazon.com and sign in with your Amazon account.
- Submit the same RSS feed URL.
- Once approved, your descriptions (with all your anchors) appear on Amazon too.
Step 8 — Scale to More Platforms (Bonus)
The same RSS feed can be submitted to dozens of high-DR podcast directories — each one is a free backlink.
- Google Podcasts (now YouTube Music) — DR 100
- iHeartRadio — DR 91
- Podchaser — DR 81
- Listen Notes — DR 84
- Podbean, Castbox, Pocket Casts, Stitcher

Frequently Asked Questions
Are Spotify podcast backlinks do-follow?
Spotify episode descriptions render links as clickable URLs that Google crawls and indexes. While the link attribute can vary, the contextual signal, brand mention and direct referral traffic make them extremely valuable.
How many podcast backlinks should I build per month?
Start with 4 episodes per month (1 per week). Each episode published on Spotify, Apple and Amazon = 3 backlinks. That's 12 high-DR backlinks per month with under 2 hours of work.
Do I need a real microphone?
No. AI text-to-speech tools like TTSMaker, ElevenLabs and Murf produce voices that are good enough for SEO podcast episodes. The backlink value is the same.
How long until I see SEO results?
Indexing happens in 3–14 days. Ranking impact (referral traffic + authority signals) usually shows within 4–8 weeks if you publish consistently.
Want SEOing to build podcast backlinks for your brand?
We publish 8–16 AI podcast episodes per month across Spotify, Apple and Amazon — full keyword research, scripts, audio, descriptions and indexing handled for you.
